Technology Assessment

Technology assessment is an important link for transformation of scientific and technological achievements and also a means to manage technical innovation. Technology assessment includes qualitative and quantitative analysis for the possible impact from development, promotion and application of technological achievements and is the important reference for determining the level and value of technical achievements as well as the basis for technical promotion, governance of ecological environment and environmental management. It is conducted mainly by expert demonstration, environmental technical verification (ETV) and selection of best practical technology; and its contents mainly include environmental technology assessment, assessment of the implementation impacts of policy and standard and the evaluation of environmental governance performance.

As per the requirements of the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Transformation of Ecological Environmental Technology Achievements ( [2018] No.175) on improving the assessment system of technical achievements and promoting technical assessment by third parties, we will further standardize the norms and methods for assessment of technical achievements of different types, improve the working procedures for technical assessment of ecological environmental technology achievements, conduct credit rating management of third party assessment institutions and the organization of expert database, complete the selection of third party assessment institutions and rely on third party assessment institutions to screen and evaluate the applicable technologies, integrated technologies and comprehensive solutions for prevention and treatment, restoration and management of ecological environmental pollution, issue technical catalog and promote demonstrated projects.
